Agricultural Drones

These aircraft can be programmed to fly an exact pattern over the ground, avoiding obstacles as they fly. The spray automatically switches on and off as they approach and leave the track they are working on. When they need a new battery or their tanks need refilling, they automatically come back to base and can be returned to service in a very quick turn-around time. The pilot can take manual control at any time, but will usually only need to monitor landing and takeoff during refilling.

Amongst the range of aircraft available it is possible to carry payloads of from 5 to 80kg of chemical, seed or fertiliser. Flight times last from 5 to 15 minutes before the aircraft returns to base for refueling or refilling  in a 2 minute turn-around. The large aircraft can cover approximately 20ha per hour, and can be flown in swarms of up to five from one controller to get the work done faster.
